Christmas Favorites on Day 2

It’s December 2nd. This is the second post in our Christmas Favorites series. In light of the holiday season, we’re going to post 25 days of movies, songs, recipes, and places to help celebrate the holiday season. Check back each day to see what the daily favorites are.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas – In 1966, this 1957 book turned into an animated hit. 46 years later, this made for television movie is a staple to almost every holiday household. In 2000, Jim Carey took the lead role for a full length film based on the originals.

Song

You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch – This Thurl Ravenscroft hit was produced the same year as the animated film “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Not only has it been reproduced in each film mentioned above, it’s also been a hit on Broadway.

Recipe

Cocktail Cranberry Chili Meatballs – Over medium heat, stir the following until the sugar is dissolved:

1 can (14 ounces) of jellied Ocean Spray cranberry sauce
1 bottle or can (12 ounces) of chili sauce
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Then, mix in your favorite frozen or fresh meatballs and stir until heated through.
